PARVEEN BABI - AN ENCHANTING ENIGMA

20th January 2021, marks the 16th year of her passage from the mortal world, the effulgent beauty of Parveen Babi is still brightly luminant in the minds and senses of the aficionados of the Indian film Industry. Parveen Babi a devastatingly attractive model turned famous actress with perfect diction, was an icon of her generation, with enigmatic smile, perfect cupid’s bow, supreme beauty, intellect, chic and elegance.

Parveen Babi exhaled intelligence, talent, eloquence, sophistication, voluptuous exquisiteness with benevolence, magnanimity and decency. She was not stereotypical Indian film star but went on to become one of the biggest and highest paid stars of the 70’s. Parveen and Zeenat, the glamourous Divas, brought new wave of modernity in Indian Cinema, epitomized glamour, fondly cherished through decades, their swank style, panache and modishness earned them instant stardom, inspired the life of youth and familiarized them with modernistic and western culture.
Angelic Parveen Babi was warm hearted and engaging, known for her intense style, outgoing yet enigmatic personality, had an aura of exclusivity, earned her celebrity status with sheer hard work and determination, a remarkable woman, whose heart was filled with goodness and graciousness. She was full of innocence and sweet simplicity, with ease, she exuded grace, gentleness and refinement.

“Life is most precious phenomena on the face of earth. We must respect it, cherish it if we have, we must thank God for it. And we make best of it on a positive way.”

-Parveen Babi

In early years, her bold and powerful presence in a small role in Deewar, left lasting impression, her competitive performances with heroes of the generation, in male thematic movies, fortified her star status. Confidentially, Parveen energized her career, worked with most of the top stars of the time, with her magnificent demeanour she could snatch lime light from actors, needless to say, she matched Amitabh in her stature and calibre, and the leading pair would co-star in thirteen movies, which were instant hits.

Parveen Babi and her co-star Amitabh rehearse their lines or dance or attend party. Their films captivated the audience.

Parveen Babi, open-minded with cosmopolitan outlook, continues to enthuse, electrify and fascinate even though she is long gone, but her memory is still etched in the hearts of people, she still stands out brilliantly among any young actress of today or any of her contemporaries in Indian Film Industry, an enchanting woman named Parveen Babi is never forgotten, remains an enigma forever.

She is the Night. She is the Stars.

Her soul soars and her mind races.

She has a beauty that is Unfathomable.

She is in the Stars. She is the queen of night.”

T he forest yields many non-renewable and renewable natural resources, though the tropical forest is threatened by habitat destruction, yet it is the most biologically diverse reservoir and has myriad range of animal and plant species. PARVEEN BABI - IN REMEMBRANCE

PARVEEN BABI - IN REMEMBRANCE This is in the memory of one of the most beautiful, educated and glamourous model turned actresses of Indian cinema, Parveen Babi. She was not only an exquisite beauty but highly talented girl who mesmerized audience with her screen presence and performance during her time in Indian film Industry. Parveen Babi, the only child, born to her parents after 14 years on 4th April 1949, went to Mount Carmel High School and ended up with a degree in English literature from St Xavier’s College Ahmedabad. From the beginning she had interest in painting, writing, reading and playing piano which she  continued till her later life. She was a simple fun- loving girl, with peculiar sense of humor and wanted to settle down happily married. Vying for love, happiness and fulfilment, destiny did not oblige, and played its part otherwise, leading to unhappiness and disappointments. Her journey in filmdom began with h

THE RISE OF ACTION GENRE - INDIAN ACTRESSES

THE RISE OF ACTION GENRE – INDIAN ACTRESSES The gradual progress of female action-oriented movies in Indian cinema started in late 80’s. The fundamental problem about the popularity and acceptance of heroine lead action movies in 80’s, continues to arise even at present, it is understandable with limited and prejudiced perception of audience about women in the dominant action roles, curtailed by the significant consideration extended to leading actors, with super heroes status, maintaining typical action formula. The quality of action-oriented film with inherent challenge requires natural talent with plausible personality and character. But it is only a decade since we are witnessing long delayed female action movies in modern times. At present, there are few female actresses, with merit, grit and determination to portray heroic roles and deserve ample opportunities to act in supreme performance action-centric movies. The debut of female ‘action act’ in Indian cinema was in
