                                      GOLDEN BEAUTIES -INDIAN CINEMA

Beauty is boundless, has broad concept, conveys the enduring brightness of any woman by its creator and looking beautiful is important to everyone. Significantly, beauty is a basic combination of natural inner and outer traits, modulated with finest personal characteristics and distinctive qualities, evaluated aesthetically, appreciated and acknowledged universally.

At the height of her popularity, she quit the film world, yet the memorable image of Mumtaz is still fresh and firm.

In the 70’s, stunning and enigmatic, Parveen Babi elucidated modern glamour in a refined way, extremely  modest about her looks, Parveen Babi was intelligent, classy, glamourous and first ever Indian actress to be on Time magazine in 1976. Parveen with shy and subtle smile, simply mesmerizes, presents an engaging magnetism on Time’s cover, and outshines all the Indian actresses who have  graced Time’s cover over the years.

Immensely impressive, Parveen Babi was a trailblazer of glamour, with her cosmopolitan outlook, broadened the notion of independent woman in contemporary society.

Teen beauty Dimple Kapadia, with prominent dimpled chin was gorgeous as a teenager, heightened the feeling of romanticism among teenagers, became Nation’s heart throb instantly. She has restrained aura, more attractive without make up, reflects the familiar identity.

Dimple Kapadia, with very same appeal, portrays a striking image of her past, continues to retain the elixir of perpetual life and beauty.

An awe-inspiring Aishwarya Rai, former ‘Miss World’ popularized India’s grandeur on World stage. Aishwarya, a sublime beauty, is a global icon for International brands, an effective ambassador derived applause and empowered herself earnestly. Aishwarya became India’s acclaimed logo, as influential ‘Ash’ globally.

She has the power of delighting and attracting people with her artistic qualities and mannerism.  A divine diva, the only one to be known as Rekha to all age groups, expresses a sense of calm, harmony and induces an interesting fascination, perfectly retains the everlasting spark of continual delight.

Realistically, Rekha is dearly esteemed and cherished in classical archives of Indian cinema.

The manifestation of unconventional Zeenat Aman, tagged forever as ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna girl’, glamourous Zeenat, a trendsetter in glitz and glamour zone, was a dominant female protagonist. She is the custodian of legendary Asha Bhosle’s 70’s stirring melodies, which added more glamour … a source of vibrance and elation in the form of an attractive woman, strumming guitar, pulsating beats, enable us to marvel Zeenat.

Artists with charm and electrifying portrayals, Nargis, Meena Kumari, Sadhana, Sharmila, Priyanka a global personality, Raveena, Madhuri,Kajol and Tabu are highly established and popular performers, continue to attain  abundant success not only because of genuine public interest and ardent enthusiasm, but they enhance their skills through charm, inherent genius, attractive personality traits and incomparable performances. There is much public admiration about them, but still they prefer to see themselves as only artistes.

At present, amongst new comers, self-confident and chirpy Sara Ali Khan, intelligent, talented with natural merits and hearty laughter, more attractive without make up, has potential to be highly successful.

The significant difference of generations outlines a wide gap as the myth plays a decisive role in creating newcomers, youngsters or some performers with few movies, they want to be in hallowed world of showbiz, their constant craving for public attention with monotonous display of gym looks, airport looks, etc., remain ridiculously absurd. The representation of ‘Anarkali’ vibes (an actress labeled as Bollywood Superstar…); a bit of entertainment lightened the atmosphere in the present uncertain times. It is evident, some of them with subpar performances, without any credible features and inclination to film art and craft, repeatedly labelled as ‘digital’ DIVAS, the images are reworked, fabricated, promoted and publicized frequently, the fictional tactic persists and fracture the reality of ham actors. They may be fairly attractive but without inherent talent, may not fit into the film world.

The myth and fairy tale can be discouraging for some, the desire to become famous with quick and fanciful advancement is a drawback to aspirations, their dream to emulate and outshine established actors with facile approach, an unlikely stratagem in the real world of cinema.  Simply, in the realm of factuality, the talent can’t be transferred from reality to superficiality.

The originality, realistic and analytical wisdom, appreciative beauty and genius artistry of yesteryears Icons are enduringly rooted in our memory. We may never have legends again, the lofty brilliance and legacy of the Icons in the higher world of Indian cinema, is a part of our experience and cognizance.

THE RISE OF ACTION GENRE - INDIAN ACTRESSES

THE RISE OF ACTION GENRE – INDIAN ACTRESSES The gradual progress of female action-oriented movies in Indian cinema started in late 80’s. The fundamental problem about the popularity and acceptance of heroine lead action movies in 80’s, continues to arise even at present, it is understandable with limited and prejudiced perception of audience about women in the dominant action roles, curtailed by the significant consideration extended to leading actors, with super heroes status, maintaining typical action formula. The quality of action-oriented film with inherent challenge requires natural talent with plausible personality and character. But it is only a decade since we are witnessing long delayed female action movies in modern times. At present, there are few female actresses, with merit, grit and determination to portray heroic roles and deserve ample opportunities to act in supreme performance action-centric movies. The debut of female ‘action act’ in Indian cinema was in
